Rick, it’s so hard to believe that you are gone. I’ve never encountered such tenacity (your calm, loving kind of intensity), and of course your generosity is well-known. I mean a lot of people are nice, but you really changed the lives you passed through. You lifted your friends up. That you gave me a job or a place to sleep was just your normal selfless way. When you told me my music served a purpose for you when you were sick, I’ve never felt so honored, so justified. I think of you when I want to quiet the doubts and the questions. For you I will get over it and make something good. I will try to participate like you did — beyond what anyone could expect.
